Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Fixed the configuration problem that prevented connections to RAL CondDB using the "DisableLFC" hack (new AppConfig released).
  • Prepared (before Easter) a system to produce automatically the documentation for the complete software stack. Still some clean up and fine tuning to be done.
The links in the projects pages should be changed to point to the new location.

Rob: rename the nightly slots lhcb4, 5 and 6.

  • Deployed LbScripts v5r1 in $LHCBDEV
    • post-install hook
    • stable link (v99r9) to the latest version of data packages in the Online environment
  • CMT v1r21 has been released, We should start testing it (in the nightlies).
  • Problem with the gcc binary distributed with LCGCMT. It access AFS even if not needed causing troubles with the size that have AFS and high latency networks. A new build is being validated.
  • Waiting for feedback on the Windows builds of Fastjet.

  • Problems with Online v4r28
    • The event watchdog introduced in Gaudi induces a limit on the maximum rate to about 500Hz. It needs to be modified.

The changes in Gaudi should be introduced in a less intrusive way.

  • Witek and Michelangelo Mangano proposed to merge the versions of EvtGen and try to maintain a single version.

Marco Ca.

  • Reminder for Marco Cl.:
    • D.Q. flags in the conditions database
    • automatic following of the CondDB tags used to produce events
  • Introducing an option to LHCbApp to enable context specific settings (Online, Grid, etc.).

  • Is it possible to have tests run only in the nightlies?
Marco Cl.: currently, only the tests in the suite with the same name of the package are executed automatically, if it exists, otherwise all the tests are run. It is possible to add a switch that enable a special suite, called "nightly" to take precedence.
  • Once the release of Rec is done, we would like to migrate the Tracking packages to Subversion.
    • There are still questions about how to get mails for the commits.
Marco Cl.: the RSS feed have all the granularity that can be imagined and is close enough to a mailing list (mail clients can use them). If a real email is wanted, there are tools that poll feeds and forward them to emails.
Karol: there are even web services that work as RSS to email gateways.
