  • Python module lxml will replace pyxml in LCG externals (pytools). To be checked.
  • Peter Kelemen fixed the time-out problem of the distcc client (needs update of the rpm).
  • ENTICE meeting:
    • courses for Drupal site designers and developers
  • Starting from Monday, the tools to add local users to SLC4 machines will change (same as SLC5).
  • CHEP deadline postponed to 15th of January.
    • Note: internal LHCb deadline 10th of December
  • 2 new fellows and extension for Silvia (2 months).
  • Deadline for technical students on Monday.

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Implemeted a pre-commit check for Subversion to restrict the permissions in the tags directories.
    • A lot of discussion followed the first implementation, which didn't allow tags removal. Now added.
  • Gaudi:
    • added '-m32' flag for ICC (requested by Atlas)
  • Marco Ca.:
    • Problem with Boost 1.44 and ICC in LHCb, to be investigated
    • We should support (in the A.F.) the request to anticipate the December release of ROOT (starting from 2011)
    • We should also push for a quick release of the LCGCMT stack to be able to release Gaudi early in January.

We need to have a brain-storming session for the management of CondDB tags, as agreed at the latest software week.

  • The Python script to get the configuration of the nightlies from the tag collector is ready (Karol is testing it)
    • we need to introduce the concept of dependencies between projects (with versions)

  • Migration to Subversion going well (only Geant4 missing)
    • move remaining packages to "obsolete"
    • cross check the list of packages
  • We must enforce the package structure also for small projects that do not rely on cmt, to simplify the distribution.
  • New release of Curie
  • The migration of the CernVM directories is running
  • New release of Compat coming soon

  • Nightly slot lhbc-lcg-head ready to be built for on VC9
    • it will have to depend on the LCG nightly build of the previous day
  • Build of SLC4 on SLC5 almost OK (small problem with Online)

We need to be able to disable the project in a slot by setting a flag/attribute instead of commenting out the lines in the XML, so that we can do it from the web editor.

  • A system for regular hashsum-based check of the Conditions Database tags is almost ready.
