Date and Location

10:30 - 11:10
CERN (2-R-030)

Ben Couturier, Illya Shapoval, Joel Closier, Marco Clemencic (minutes), Markus Frank, Thomas Hartmann (Vidyo)

  • From LIM
    • gcc 4.7 builds in LCG nightlies (SLC6)
    • problems with C++11 on externals
    • question about Python 2.7. ATLAS said no, and we would answer something.
    • ROOT 6 rc1 a bit late
    • moving to ElectricCloud: the LCG nightlies should be ready by the end of the year.
we need to see if we can reuse their work for our nightlies
  • Old lxbuild machines decommissioned, new ones in production

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Fixes in Gaudi
    • proper return code for errors (e.g. failed input file) during initialization
    • fixed success exit after segfault
  • CMake configuration status
    • from LbScripts v7r3 (dev)
      • CMake command on the PATH on lxplus and on local installations (if installed explicitly)
      • env.py script available on the PATH
      • CMake bootstrap files included in LbUtils
      • getpack updated to check out the project configuration files
      • tag_package and branch_package copy also the CMake configuration of the project (if present)
    • improved ease of use
    • started to work on the documentation (using custom extension to Sphinx)
    • TO-DO
      • issue to integrate it in the nightlies to be fixed
      • support in SetupProject (w/ and w/o --build-env)
      • add version detection in tag_package and getpack (who is supporting the release manager tools in the tag collector?)
      • set up a nightly build slot using CMake
  • Fixing -pedantic warnings
    • a few in Online/RootCnv (fix already present in Gaudi)
    • 1148 in Online project
    • 59 in Rec
    • Note: extra ';' is an error in gcc 4.3, but just a warning in gcc 4.6. Can we enable -pedantic by default?

  • Built the new test release of LbScripts, to be pushed in production because of a new package (WG package), which causes troubles in productions.

  • Presented the Compatibility Tracking System (CTS) presented at IEEE. The paper should be ready in two weeks.
  • We will need to have the neo4j server (used by the CTS) on some shared machine.

  • Few patches applies.

  • Issue with SVN last week (see INC184975).
    • will try to use ssh instead of http (as suggested by SVN support).

  • LHCb CVS repository has been archived.
