    • ROOT 6 RC beginning of January
  • Forum on Concurrent Programming Models and Frameworks, this afternoon
  • Architects Forum tomorrow
    • Savannah to JIRA migration
  • LCCC referees are asking for a paper from all the experiments on computing models after LS1, deadline September.
  • HLT upgrade workshop in Amsterdam end of January. We need to report on Computing constraints.

Issues from last meeting

  • Ben: running SLC5 binaries on SLC6 hosts
    • new LCGCMT SLC5 includes SLC6 gcc, so that we can run SLC5 on SLC6 host
  • Marco Cl.: add a hook to disconnect from databases in DetCond, to allow for the 'late forking' implemented by Nathalie.
    • pending

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • CMake configuration committed from LHCb to Brunel and DaVinci.
    • fixes have been required after the release of Gaudi
  • Testing Jenkins and CDash as possible replacements for the nightlies
    • Jenkins is a great tool to control the execution of the builds
    • CDash is well integrated with CMake/CTest and is closer to our model
    • missing key feature is a script/tool to do the checkout as in the nightlies (patching the configurations); Thomas is working on it

  • Couple of releases of LbScripts
    • new packages added
    • we were calling "gcc --version" and that was trying to access AFS
    • problem with getpack --branches
  • Hack for mkGenser to include new PDFs
  • Patch of Genser to include the new files
  • Cleaning up in $LHCBTAR/sources
  • Archiving everything on CASTOR, but it needs cleaning and restructuring

Gloria's special archiveproject script should be merged in the mainstream one.

  • Discussion ongoing to do regular profiling of Hlt.

Ben: we need to decide if we want to use Intel math library, which gives 10% speedup in Brunel. (to be mentioned in the AF)

  • Annoying bug in a CondDBUI tool found by Sajan, now fixed in the head.

  • Waiting for Reco14 for the global tag.

  • Several problems with the nightlies in the last days.
    • problem with copies to AFS
    • Coverity didn't run for two weeks. Today should have worked.

Marco Ca.: why do we have these kind of bursts of failures?

Marco Cl.: can we have a well defined and described procedure of which version of the nightlies code goes in production, how to test, and how to know which version has been used?
