News
- LCGCMT 64d release... but they forgot slc5-gcc46...
- ROOT Workshop
- LHCb Software Workshops announced (21-23 May and 5-7 November)
- ITUM
- Git service officially in production
- Savannah to JIRA migration.
We should try the migration on few projects and decide what to do with others.
Gloria: created 'LHCb Simulation' project in SFT JIRA instance.
We should ask for a new project on ITS and drop the old one.
Marco Cl.: what about the switch of the lxplus to slc6?
Nothing special. Ben will change the default CMTCONFIG for SLC6 (currently pointing to slc5) as soon as we have a usable stack built on SLC6 (including LHCb, Dirac, Ganga).
Issues from JIRA
- LBCORE-10
Commissioning of New Nightly Builds System
- LBCORE-14
Separation between LCGCMT and LCGGrid
- LBCORE-24
Build nightlies on to p of CVMFS
Round Table
Ben
- starting from the latest stack we are distributing dbg builds to CVMFS. Now we can build the nightlies lhcb-head and lhcb-prerelease on top CVMFS
- we are waiting for a machine to serve nightly builds via CVMFS
- install_software script (to install on CVMFS) now accepts an option to install also the debug versions
Joel: the new machine will host an installation of Jenkins with two instances, one for LHCbDirac and one for Core Software.
Gloria
- MC Generators have the hepmc version in the version name. Now we have some new external generators that use other libraries, so we need to bind them to the version of LCGCMT and not just HepMC. To use the new libraries we need to change the convention and the generator interfaces packages.
- We will need discussions on the level of support for generators (and the patches needed, like the one used by ATLAS for Hijing).
- Patrick Robbe fixed all the compilations problems of GiGa in the nightlies. Just a warning in configurable generation, because of a deeper problem in the reference counting, that must be addressed correctly.
Marco Ca.:
- Issue with SLC6 builds: too slow.
- We need to add ITS Jira to the LHCb web page.
Illya
- Compatibility Tracking System: it now allows 'Detector Type', 'Reco Type', 'Sim Type', 'Platform'
- Pure Python project being prepared for the interfaces to the CTS.
- CTS renamed to Ariadne.
Liang
- Progressing on transparent compression of CondDB data.
Thomas
- Set up the lhcb-trigger slot for Rob.
