  • Forum on Concurrent Programming Models and Frameworks today
    • Danilo reporting on GaudiHive
    • Vijay reporting on ARM
  • From LIM
    • CMake-based build of the externals ready for the supported platforms
    • Now that the full set of externals can be build in few hours, SFT is planning a different deployment model for LCG stack: one directory with everything (bin, lib, etc.) per version of LCG(CMT) LBCORE-117
    • LCGCMT 65 almost ready: gcc 4.7 (c++11), VDT, etc.
    • Geant 4 new release with the multi-threading version available for testing
  • Migration from Savannah to JIRA
    • identified the projects to be migrated
    • few different use cases will have to be tested
    • Marco Cl. folllowing up with Benedikt
  • Discussion on packaging of SFT-provided software
    • Pere is suggesting to use everywhere CVMFS and stop packaging
    • there are pros and cons, Ben will follow up preparing arguments for the discussion
  • New LbScripts released
  • Issues for the migration from SLC5 to SLC6
    • at the moment we cannot build SLC5 binaries on SLC6 to run them on SLC5 LBCORE-100
    • running on SLC6 seems to require more memory than on SLC5

Presentation on LHCbPR project (Emmanouil)

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • New Nightly Builds
    • migrated the LHCb-hosted git repository to the central CERN git service (renamed LHCbNightlies2 to LbNightlyTools)
    • moved the lhcb-patches# slots to the new system, but the resources are not well partitioned because of the cohexsistence with the old system
    • waiting for the move of Jenkins to lxbuild119 before completing the migration
  • Using the CMake configuration files to build the externals on ARM (Raspberry Pi), slow and requires debugging

  • Problems with group login on SLC6 desktop

Marco Ca.

  • Reshuffling the agenda for the Computing Workshop
  • Will ask help for conveening the session

  • New SQLDDDB release (for Ariadne)
  • Ariadne used to configure one LoadDDDB test in the nightlies

  • We need to test the compressed database in the nightlies. We will switch today.
