  • From LIM
    • ATLAS will use ROOT 5 for run 2 (most probably)
    • Benedikt asked which externals we actually use (in particular NeuroBayes)
  • Marco Ca. will start working on the task list document (for the LHCb Week after next)

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Gaudi
    • applied a patch by Chris on Google profiling auditors
    • enable C++1y for gcc 4.9 builds (CMake only)
    • changes/fixed to CMake
  • Migration to CMake
    • checking that the CMake build matches the CMT one (only Online requires significant work)
    • fixing all the tasks that are required for the migration (in Gaudi and LbScripts)
  • Nightly Builds
    • modified the checkout script so that it does not stop if one of the projects fails to check out (LBCORE-664)
  • ROOT 6
    • as agreed last week, we wait that Rainer runs his scalability tests on the farm before deciding to drop the compatibility with ROOT 5
    • Marco Ca.: Roel got his fellow and one of his first tasks is to get rid of interactivity in Gaudi jobs
  • Updated shared Eclipse version (the old one did not work with SLC 6.6). Still to be installed on CVMFS.

Joel: we should plan the changes

  • Made a new release of Online
  • Is the latest Gaudi SLC 6.6 ready? yes, so they can update all the farm with SLC 6.6

  • Issue with professor with LCG 68 (SPI-728)
  • Alex would like to fix some Rivet scripts (to be discussed with GENSER)

  • Problems creating the LCGGrid tarball for LCG 68 (missing SFT tarballs)
    • created by hand at the moment
    • the problem will soon appear again for Ganga
  • What will we do with the build machines? (low priority)
  • On the new CVMFS machine some cron entries are missing

  • Updated LbScripts to allow the project AlignmentOnline.
  • Starting from LCG 70 we need the debug builds of the externals: fixed on our side
  • We managed to build 2 complete stack in one day
  • CMS is validating gcc 4.9.1 against 4.8.1
  • Got the CVs of ISIMA students.
  • Waiting for the fixes in sft.its.cern.ch for LHCBDEP
  • Thanks to Illya, the install command on CVMFS can guess which platforms are actually needed

  • Still working on GaudiHive project
    • testing different scheduling policies (will be presented at some point)

  • Marco Cl. write a document (note/TWiki) on the migration to CMake: impact to users, how to solve problems, recipes
