Subjects

News

  • HSF Meeting at 16:00
    • Marco and Ben will go to the workshop at SLAC
    • Marco Ca.: we should have a reharsal of the presentations
  • There is an offer of help from two Polish groups (on Computing)

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Fixed issue with StatusCode checks after GAUDI-992 (different and variable depth of the call stack because of the inlineable destructor of StatusCode)
  • During the investigation on the StatusCode check problem, other problems surfaced:
    • StatusCode instances are copied many times: a move constructor would be hlepful. Markus suggests that we can also simplify (squeeze) the data to only copy 64 bits (e.g. using one bit of the code to flag it as checked).
    • the test of the StatusCodeSvc in Gaudi was not testing anything
  • Will prepare the CMake-base stack byt the end of the week or beginning of next week
    • more tutorials and a new release of LbScripts are needed
  • Prepared some useful tools for release shifters, to be included in the next LbScripts release.

Joel

  • It seems the twiki for release shifters has some problems in the data package sections
  • new LHCbDirac release (major) on Monday

Marco Ca.

  • Updating the tasks document, waiting for contributions. This document proved to be very useful (e.g. the Polish contributions are based on the content of the document).

Markus

  • Looking for a function to get the CPU slot (socket) a process is running on.
    • Marco Cl. suggested to ask OpenLab

Gerhard

  • Asked Tim to have a Need For Speed meeting during the Analysis week.
    • Since Marco Cl. and Ben will not be around, It would be nice to repeat it at the Core Software Meeting the week afterward.
  • Issue with mutex in Boost pool allocator. It would be nice to have a compile time flag telling if we need the mutex or not (can be changed with a template paramenter to Boost).
    • Marco Cl. says that we can assume that Gaudi is single-thread until we have the merge of GaudiHive, then we can rediscuss the issue.
  • Implemented move constructor for StatusCode.
