  • GCC 5.1.0 available for testing
  • CC7 builds available in the LCG nightlies
    • Marco Ca.: which will be the WLGC preferred platform? CC7? SL7?
  • Joel: there's a problem with Python socket library in LCG 74
  • gitlab.cern.ch accessible from outside CERN

Round Table

Marco Cl.

  • Coverity
    • started the web interface after the upgrade of the defects database, but the defects are not visible/searchable
    • let's wait to see what happens when we resurrect the analysis jobs before trying to re-migrate the DB
  • CMake
    • fixes for relocatability (lb-run + Gaudi), requires Gaudi and LbScripts
  • Gaudi
    • added warning for duplicated properties (in derived classes)
    • quick boot without GaudiPython (GAUDI-986), exposing problems hidden by PyROOT
  • Git mirrors (LBCORE-729)
    • added more projects
    • need to define merge policies

Markus: can we have a debug build with -O0?
After some discussion, we agreed to add one platform (id) that is built with "-g -O0" (only for the Online use case). This platform will only be built in the release (not in the nightlies).

Given the timescale for the release of the LHCb software stack we scheduled the release of Gaudi for the end of next week (with new LCG).

Marco Ca.: what is the status of LoKi functors cache?
Still not integrated with the build system, and unlikely Marco Cl. can work on it before after the workshop.

  • Build machines 161-163, 171-173 will be retired on Friday

Marco Ca.: can we still use build machines for private builds/tests?
Yes, but we should investigate other possibilities, like lxbatch or private VMs.

  • Issue with SFT JIRA: cannot add watchers (if you do not know the user name)
  • IT circulated a poll about usage of Trac, with suggestions to move to Git
  • Release of LbScripts soon

Marco Ca.

  • Computing Workshop in two weeks
  • CHEP paper dead line the 15th

  • Still problems triggering a release.

  • Working on task scheduling on
  • Submitted to IEEE an abstract

  • Patches on DDDB and LHCBCOND for the split Hlt
