C++ version

Gerhard: we need C++14 or the part of it in gcc 4.9.

Marco Ca.: it's not likely we can move to gcc 5.x, so we should focus on gcc 4.9

Markus: we can starting testing at the PIT

Marco Ca.: we can change the default CMTCONFIG to gcc49 beginning of January, and allow C++14 in March.


ROOT 6.06 contains big changes under the

Marco Ca.: it's preventing us to move to the latest LCG and we do not want to be stuck forever.

Gloria: we use it for two reasons:

  • random numbers
  • generators

As soon as we can validate Geant4/Gauss with CMake
