Swapping Data Manager Identity

The following are the steps identified:

  1. Verify that the new DN is entitled in VOMS to dress the FQAN: /lhcb/Role=production (Action: VO Manager)
  2. Verify that the new DN is properly recognized to submit a FTS job against all FTSes. (Action: new DM)
    • The new DM can submit FTS jobs just following the recipe described in this manual.
  3. Verify that the new DN is able to access with production role all production areas at all SEs. (Action: new DM)
    • For StoRM/dCache and DPM storages, being fully VOMS aware, this is granted by FQAN.
    • For CASTOR (CERN and RAL) this requires to get in touch with the site managers to insure the DN is properly mapped to production castor accounts. Open GGUS ticket to CERN and RAL (Action: GEOC)
  4. Ask (GGUS tickets) all sites managers to verify that the new DN is among the vo managers of the FTS server that they provide. Check here an example of request and desired answer from the site. (Action: GEOC)
    • The FTS manager has FTS channel management capabilities (changing channel parameters and shares)
    • The FTS manager can monitor the FTS jobs submitted by someone else (crucial in the hand over phase)
  5. Verify that the Data Manager has the super-user role enabled at the sites as explained here (Action: New DM)
  6. As soon as all sites have updated their FTS, change to the DN the Dirac Configuration System for the data manager (Action: VO Manager)
    • Modify the username on the field /Operations/Shifter/DataManager
