LHCb Nightly builds first setup and pre-requirements

LHCb build nodes (clients)

The Linux nightlies are built on the LXBUILD facility, currently composed of the following machines:

Setting up a new build node (client)

detailed steps for setting up a new machine as nightlies build machine

Linux

The following additional steps are necessary to setup LHCb Nightlies build node:
  • /build/nightlies/ directory
  • /build/nightlies/.distcc directory
  • read/write rights for lhcbsoft user on these directories
When these steps are ready, don't forget to add a client line to the acrontab of lhcbsoft user (details: LHCbNightliesOldConfiguration)

Windows

LHCb software no longer supports Windows. The last available configuration instructions for Windows nightlies can be found here
