MCRichHit
Class Summary
The output of Gauss, representing the photo-electron hit on the HPD silicon wafer. Data members are
- Hit point (entry) on the silicon. Note the exit point is not stored as it has no meaning.
- The energy the photo-electron deposited.
- Smart Reference to the associated MCParticle. In most cases this is the MCParticle which traverse the radiator medium, which radiated a Cherenkov photon which subsequently hit the HPD entrance window causing the photo-electron which was ultimately detected by the HPD silicon wafer. However, In some cases a charged particle can directly hit the HPD entrance window causing a shower of photo-electrons, and in these cases the Smart Reference points to this MCParticle.
- A bit packed 32bit integer containing information on the history of the hit, such as whether it was produced by a Cherenkov hit or a charged track, or which radiator the hit came from (needed in RICH1 for example, to distinguish aerogel and C4F10 hits).
