---+ Inventory and specifications of Maraton power supplies for the !SciFi tracker A MARATON (MAgnetism and RAdiation TOlerant New) is a low voltage power supply system marketed by the company Wiener. [[http://www.wiener-d.com/sc/power-supplies/maraton/][see link]]. * A Maraton LV supply has 12 channels. We assume that one channel can supply the FEE of 2 cold boxes, i.e 1 Maraton = 1 C-frame. * For the C-frame assembly and testing in the new surface building at point 8, LHCb will provide a rack with miniDAQ2 and a Maraton supply. ---++++ Some facts about Maraton legacy (by Antonio, Fred, Pascal) * At present we have a pool of common LHCb Maraton spares for all Maraton components except the 12-channels power supplies themselves, for the reasons that different subdetectors use different power supplies. * The Outer Tracker uses the type 0M22.0003 (385VDC input, 2 - 8V, 300W nominal, 55A max, 50A continuous) of which we own 8 (6 + spares). I believe that the same type is also in use in the RICH, MUON and PS/SPD (four items, 3 owned by P. Perret and one by D. Gascon). * The Silicon Tracker instead owns 10 of the type 0M22.1003 (385VDC input, but only 6 channels with 2 - 8V, 300W nominal, 55A max, 50A continuous; the other 6 channels with 5 - 15V 300W, 22A max, 20A continuous). It has been decided that these Maratons will be taken over by the UT. See [[https://indico.cern.ch/event/354046/contributions/832443/attachments/701524/963135/LHCb_upgrade_power2.pdf][link]] ---++++ Conclusions * For the full !SciFi detector , the 8 OT + 4 PS/SPD powers supplies provide us the 12 power supplies we need. * For the time after LS2, the plan is that LHCb will maintain a common pool of spare Maratons. The individual detectors do not need to take care of spares. -- Main.ChristianJoram - 2017-11-27
