Short summary and decisions
Discussion with Stefano Petrucci from CAEN about possible participation in SciFiNet as beneficiary. There appears to be a general interest and also familiarity with EU Marie Curie projects. Possible project for a student recruited at CAEN: development and commercialisation of small scale (O(10 cm)) fibre modules, equipped with SiPM and readout electronics for pedagogical and lab/cosmics test purposes. Will be discussed with CAEN management.
Hamamatsu Switzerland was informed about the intention to integrate KETEK in the network. They showed understanding and a professional attitude. Option of Hamamatsu as associated partner was also mentioned and will be discussed by them internally. First reaction was however hesitant.
It was agreed to include from now on the company KETEK in the SciFiNet communication and meetings. The contact person on the KETEK side will be Tobias Eggert.
Associated partners:
Barcelona had expressed the wish to be ful l partner of SciFiNet, however they understood the arguments, why this was very dificult. They would like to be considered as associated partner.
Kurchatov. Contact is being established to Vladimir Shevchenko.
Rio de Janeiro: Antonio supports this option, but we have still to find a convincing case. What's the added value to the network?
Heidelberg also expressed interest.
The option of having a company as associated partner was discussed. Possibilities would be FACC (Austria) and a German company, with which Aachen has good working relations.
Reminder: proposal wrinting course on 5 and 6 Feb (1.5 days) at CERN. Antonio and Christian reigstered.
First drafts of the job descriptions (ch. 4.1) were discussed. It was agreed to send all drafts to Christian who will assemble them and circulate a summary document. At this stage it's important to have a rough idea of all jobs in order to avoid duplication and to ensure reasonable linking of activities.
First drafts of Institute Capacities tables were discussed (ch. 5.).
The following sharing of the max. 15 positions was agreed. Per partner: industry = 1; CERN = 3; all other = 2; ==> Sum = 15.
Towards Draft 0 of the proposal: Editing team (Antonio, Christian, Guido and Pascal) will meet on Thu 6 Feb, 14:00 for a brainstorming and editing meeting. Continue on Friday 7 Feb, 9:00.
Next meeting: Wed, 12 Feb, 9:00
