Dsh analysis meeting minutes 03-02-11

Present : Vava, Sajan, Barbara, Nico, Laurence

On Evo : Piotr, Paul, Mariusz, Niels

The presentations focused on material for the second draft of the note, with the exception of the NeuroBayes item. The second draft which has been released since this meeting serves as a better record of what was decided in the meeting than any minutes, hence the brief nature of the entries below.

It was agreed that we should try to go for a publication immediately after unblinding the Bs data (subject to referee's approval).

It was also agreed that from now on the note is to be updated in a rolling fashion: people should commit updates to their note sections as they are ready, and new drafts of the note can be released as soon as a significant quantity of updated material is accumulated.

Piotr :
Presented status of fits to the MC cocktail samples which look good, returning the "correct" values (within 1 sigma).

Nico, Barbara:
Showed many "cross-check" fits, with different PIDK cuts, different BDTG cuts, leaving out some backgrounds, and so on.

Update on NeuroBayes selection, now in two stages: first train to reject pure combinatorics, then train to reject prompt charm. NeuroBayes gives significant improvement over cut based selection, needs to be compared to BDTG and FisherGaus as well.

Showed data-MC comparison plots for PT, which showed disagreement (to be understood). It was agreed not to put these in the note until they are understood because there was a suspicion that the discrepancy was caused by a bug and was not a real effect.
