Muon LHCb geometry

General informations

This page is intended to be a repository of documents about the LHCb Muon Geometry.

The most significant changes for muon upgrade phase-1 are in HCAL region:

1) new beam-plug under HCAL with new tolerances;

2) inner HCAL cells replaced with tungsten shielding to reduce the rate into M1;

3) tungsten shielding implemented in DDDB;

4) the description of the M5 shielding is in DDDB.

For the future upgrade phase-2 a new shielding wall is under study.
