General Information :

This page describe the installation details for all kinds of OPC servers.The OPC servers are located at S:/OPCServer.

Generic Tools :

  • Server Explorer x.x.x is a generic OPC client for debugging.
  • Once you installed the Server Explorer, you can open the dialog to get a list of available OPC server on both local and remote machines. (default installation path C:\Program files\National Instrument\shared\Server Explorer)

  • You can see many OPC server in the list. (OPC20CanOpen+ for Elmbs, WienerKVASER.OPC_SERVER for CAN wiener fan trays, and WIENER.Plein.Baus.OPC.Server.DA.1 for Marathon channels)

  • selete the OPC server you want to connect to, and click "Connect", you will see the following dialog.

CAEN :

  • Extract CAENOPC/CAENHVOPCServer_x_xx.zip
  • Install CAENHVOPCServer_x.xx/setup.exe, select default option
  • Install OPCServerConf_x.x.x/setup.exe, select default option
  • Run Program/CAEN/HP OPC Server Configurator to add entry for specific module

ELMB:

  • Extract ELMB/OPCSetup.zip and install setup.exe (for kvaser interface)
  • Generate config file using fwElmb component and overwrite CANopenOPC/OPCCanServer.cfg

Wiener Fan tray:

  • Extract WienerFanTray/WienerOPC_xxxx_release to somewhere.
  • In the dest directory, run WienerOPC_KVASER.exe /RegServer to register the OPC server
  • You can run Wiener_Config.exe to define a config for Wiener Fan trays then. Or you can export config file from PVSS fwWiener component.

Wiener Maraton(Ethernet):

  • You have to install WienerMaraton/net-snmp first. Some times, the net-snmp will replace the %PATH%, so it is recommended that you backup the %PATH% first.
  • You can check the functions of net-snmap with snmpget -v 2c -c public xx.xx.xx.xx sysUpTime.0 to test the connectivity bwtween this machine and the Wiener Maraton Power Supply, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of Maraton.
C:\Documents and Settings\kzhuo>snmpget -v 2c -c public 192.168.254.2 sysUpTime.0
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (7563501) 21:00:35.01
C:\Documents and Settings\kzhuo>snmpget -v 2c -c public 192.168.254.5 sysUpTime.0
Timeout: No Response from 192.168.254.5.
  • Then install WienerOPCS-x.x.x.xx , and uncheck something like "auto-register OPC server", because there are some bugs.
  • Enter the installed path, normally C:/Program Files/W-IE-NE-R/WienerOPCS, and run WienerOPCS.exe /RegServer to register OPC server.
  • Then you can generate your own config file for Maraton:)
