PID studies Page
These pages contain an overview of the PID studies that have been performed for the B to hh analysis.
PID analysis
The B to hh analysis presented in [[][here]] aims to use the PID information inside a Likelihood fit in order to separate the various B to hh constributions (Bd,s to pi(k),pi(k)). To do so Conditional PDFs have been built, depending on the PID information. To study the PID PDFs a clean control sample of Kaons and Pions needs to be used. This sample is used to calibrate the PID for pions and kaons in the B to hh decay.
PID PDFs are going to be extraced from the D0 sample study and dependencies against momentum or other variables needs to be evaluated and properly accounted in the global signal pdf.
D0 to K pi selection
This selection uses... It has been developed by R.Muresan and presented in RICH software meetings (the RICH can use the pions and kaons samples to calibrate the PID as in this analysis)
An updated overview is given in a January Tuesday Meeting
