• Change the "/system/network/hostname" definition in the quattor template profile_oldName.tpl
  • cp profile_oldName.tpl profile_newName.tpl
  • Change the template name in the quattor template profile_oldName.tpl
  • update profile_oldName.tpl and add profile_newName.tpl
  • commit
  • On dns-sx-01 :
    • change the name of the ipmi interface in the dns
    • change the name of the main interface in the dns
    • make a dns alias between the old and new names
    • change dhcp config of the ipmi interface
    • sudo /usr/sbin/aii-shellfe --remove oldName
    • sudo /usr/sbin/aii-shellfe --configure newName
    • sudo /usr/sbin/aii-shellfe --boot newName
    • It seems that the old name is cache somewhere for these functions : check in dhcpd.conf if the new name replaced the old one. If it's wrong, change by hand.

  • on oldName :
    • modify hosname in /etc/hosts and /etc/sysconfig/network
    • reboot

  • On dns-sx-01 :
    • remove the alias
    • change the name of the computer in the dns
