LHCb RICH Performance in DC03
Introduction
This pages gives some performance data for the the LHCb RICH detector in the DC03 (Re-optimisation TDR) Monte Carlo productions.
This production used the older SICBMC LHCb simulation program and the now obsolete RICH fortran reconstruction package. Unfortunately, only limited information is available compared to the newer productions.
Cherenkov Theta Resolution
This figures gives a comparision of the Cherenkov theta resolution obtained using an early version of the RICH C++ reconstruction, with SIBMC and Gauss simulations. It is not exactly the same version as used for DC03 (most notably the fortran reconstruction was used) but should be similar.
PID Performance versus Track Momentum
The following figures show the RICH particle identification performance, as a function of momentum.
The figures of merit used are the
RichHeavyID,
RichLightID and kaon identifications for the 2 to 100
GeV/c momentum range, and only for forward tracks only.
