RICHECKIT

This topic gives general information about the suite of programs used to operate the RICH beam test and lab DAQ systems. More details about the various components can be found in the following topics:

The package can be downloaded here. Unpack it in a suitable directory using e.g.

tar xzf RICHECKIT.tgz

You should then check that execution permission is set on the feb-proxy program. The packaging utility sometimes removes this permission.

ALERT! The following step is a prerequisite that you need to do before you can successfully operate the data acquistion but it should only be done for the first installation as it will overwrite any customisations you have done to your preferences.

Download the data using the links below.

File Description
RICH-CLARO-PD.xml CLARO hardware channel maps
RICH-MAROC3-PD.xml MAROC3 hardware channel maps
RICH-xy.xml Configurator xy to anode map
configuratorLabels.xml Configurator label customisations

The downloaded files can then be imported using any of the DAQ GUIs even if the data pertain to a different GUI. In general, imported data does not take effect until the affected GUI is restarted.

Select Main->Import.... Locate the first downloaded file and click Open to import the contents. Repeat this until you have imported all of the files.

The prefedit tool can also be used to import the XML preferences and is useful to manage your Java preferences.

Several of the GUIs in the RichEcKit suite use the Digilent DEPP inteface for USB communication. You will therefore most likely need to install the Digilent runtime environment which is available for free download from http://store.digilentinc.com/.
