How to start DAQ

Should use richtbuser, the another usual password (hints: radiator names)

ssh -X richtbuser@lbrichtb.cern.ch
start_daqgui

How to check data files

ssh -X richtbuser@lbrichtb.cern.ch
cd /work/tb2015/data
ls -ltrh *.mdf

How to start online monitoring

Open a new terminal and start the PBW monitoring based on Java

ssh -X richtbuser@lbrichtb.cern.ch
cd ~/Public/tb2015/PBW/
java -jar pbw.jar

In the Data source combo box enter or select http://localhost:7999/ then click Go. It is more efficient to run it on the DAQ PC but it can also run on a different machine with a suitable adjustment to the data source URL.

How to produce offline root files

Should use the lhcbrich, the usual passwords.

ssh -X lhcbrich@lxplus.cern.ch
SetupUrania v2r4
cd ~/cmtuser/Urania_v2r4/Rich/RichTestBeam2014/
source runALL.sh runNumber

How to compare occupancy maps between runs

Example of runs 1234 and 1235

Only works on LXplus, logged in as lhcbrich

The first run given will be blue, the second red.

Note the scale as printed on the terminal (exponents are usually hidden on the pad).

A noticeable movement (ring on entirely different pixels) corresponds to a scale of 0.1

ssh -X lhcbrich@lxplus.cern.ch
cd /afs/cern.ch/work/l/lhcbrich/public/tb2015/compareruns/
./run.sh 1234 1235

How to display the SPS page 1 stream

You can of course see this page on the Vistars web page but to get a real time version you can use VLC:

vlc udp://@multicast-bevsps1:1234

This probably does not work outside the CERN network.
