Then once you have launched the application, click on the tab "Variable Hierarchies" and click through the tree "SPS-EA/H8/DETECTORS/SCINTILLATORS/" and select the "XBH8.XSCI.042.475:COUNTS" variable, then press the "Add selected" button at the bottom of the tab.

This variable represents the rate of a scintillator attached to the upstream delay wire chamber in H8A/PPE138, just upstream of our set-up: it's a round scintillator with 8cm diameter with efficiency scintillating counters around 99% for rates below 1MHz.

If you want to look at the data

  • Go to the "Query" tab and select the time window and the output format "Chart" and press the "Query" button.

If you want to store the data

  • Go to the "Query" tab and select the time window and the output format: "File" with "Tab Delimited".

  • Finally press the "Query" button and save the .tsv file.

  • Move it to the workspace of the lhcbrich account /afs/
