LHCb Run 1-2 Performance Working Group

This Performance WG encompassed PID, Calo-Objects, Tracking and Alignment (and Trigger) for LHCb Run 1 and 2. Starting from 2023, presentations related to this topic are now taking place in the Work Packages of RTA, in particular WP4 and WP2. However, you can still contact the WG for related issues, as the mailing list will be read by the people currently responsible.

Calibration tools

Overview of available tools and outstanding tasks: A&S 2020-02-04.

Tracking efficiency

• TrackCalib: create custom tracking efficiency tables for muons
• Electron tracking efficiency: create custom tracking efficiency tables for electrons
• tracking asymmetries: Package for determining the K-Pi+ detection asymmetry for any physics analysis (including reweighting tools).
• Proton detection asymmetry: evaluations of the proton detection asymmetry with calibration samples.

Momentum scale

• Momentum scaling: correction of the momentum scale for real data.

Charged PID efficiency

• PIDCalib: PID efficiencies from real data using calibration samples.
• PIDGen & PIDCorr: Resample/transform PID variables on MC according to real calibration samples.
• Electron PID efficiency: PID efficiencies for electrons from calibration samples using fit & count.

Electron/Neutral reconstruction/PID efficiency
