Work package: Readout box (aka ROB)

WP leader: Jeroen.van.Tilburg@cernNOSPAMPLEASE.ch

Scope

The work package deals with the development and building of the Readout Box, which interfaces to fibre modules, SiPM, electronics, cooling and mechanics. The downstream parts (from the last patch panel) of the evacuation systems of the (warm) electronics and the cold (SiPMs) are part of the WP.

Current main activities

  • Thermal design
  • Staggering design cooling pipes in the stereo layers

Useful links

Issues

  • Thermal design: CTE's, stresses, deformations
  • Alignment of SiPMs
  • Optical contact SiPMs and fibres.
  • Insulation of cold volume (at -40 C) from ambient and piping.
  • High density of interfaces: SiPMs, module suspension, electronics, feedthroughs for cooling (electronics and SiPMs).
