VELO Shifter Information

• Every shifter should read this in order to be updated about the latest news and possible modifications of standard procedures.
• The VELO Operating manuals can be found here.
• At the beginning of each shift a checklist should be filled in and subsequently uploaded to the VELO-Commissioning ELOG .
• Make sure the summary panel, that shows the overal status of the VELO, is continuously visible on one of the 2 big screens. For instructions see the section Summary panel here.
• Please monitor the data that is being collected during Global Commissioning, by means of the on-line monitoring tools (to be provided) and analysis with Vetra and root.
• There is a VELO-picquet service, which you can call in case of unsolvable problems. Evidently a relation between the seriousness of the error and the time of day/night is greatly appreciated. For further information about contacting the VELO-picquet see here.
• The shift schedule can be found here.
• Please make an entry in the ELOG of all things you notice and consider worthwhile being documented for further generations. Don't forget to report your own name, since otherwise it requires a lot of detective work afterwards to reconstruct who has done what.
