LHCb Stripping Selections for 2010

Introduction

This page list the stripping selections to be run in 2010. All the selections below are candidates. There's no guarantee that they will be run and when. Stripping selections should be discussed/approved in working group meetings. Summaries should be presented in T&S meetings on a Monday afternoon.

Selections

Stripping lines should be bench-marked against data taken with $\mu \sim 0.7$ in July 2010 using $STRIPPINGSELECTIONSROOT/tests/TestMyStrippingLineOnRealData.py. A complete list of retention rates can be found here.

D*+ -> pi+ D0(hh) StrippingDstarPromptWithD02HHConf     Powell, Spradlin, Xing     4 lines, one for each D0 final state: K- pi+, K-K+, pi-pi+, pi-K+. Also has lines with a consistent untagged D0 reconstruction that can be heavily prescaled or removed from the stream.
D0 -> hh' StrippingD2hhConf     Gersabeck, Cliff     3 lines, simultaneously selecting K- pi+, K-K+, pi-K+. One line has a lifetime bias w/o PID, another has PID but no lifetime bias, a third is a common loose control line which is prescaled by 0.01.
D(S) -> KS0h StrippingD2KS0h_KS02PiPiConf     Gregson, Kerzel, Gibson     1 line/4 decay modes: D(s) -> KS0 pi/K
D+/Ds+ -> hhh StrippingD2hhh.py     Amato, Charles, Correa dos Reis, Gobel, Gordon, Polycarpo     Multiple lines for differing final states and mass windows. Will be redesigned for September.
D*+ -> pi+ D0(Ks h+ h-) StrippingDstarD2KShhConf     Charles     Multiple lines for differing final states and mass windows.

Meetings

To do list

  • Revise the common particles. More sharing can/should be done among similar channels.
  • Make selections configurable. An example will be provided soon.
  • Make sure one can change the cuts by just loading a new set of cuts, without having to re-release. See HltSettings on how this is handled in Hlt.
  • More code should be shared with Hlt
