A Track is mainly an object required to navigate to the following items:
  • the representation of the trajectory a charged particle followed throughout the experiment
  • the history of the algorithm(s) which contributed to the determination of the track
  • references back to previous (intermediate) Tracks used to construct this track
    • as the (intermediate) results are not neccesarily persisted, these references may not be availabe when reading back objects from the persistent store
  • the object passed to various tools for purposes such as (but not limited to)
    • extrapolation/intersection
    • visualization
    • ...
