How to make and use Cond DB snapshots

Any change of the DB tags has to be communicated with the OPG and offline computing.
  1. Log on to plus with account online
  2. cd /home/online/MakeDBSnapshots or getpack Hlt/HltPiquetScripts
  3. lb-run LHCb/latest bash
  4. python MakeSnapShot.py
  5. You might have to change the DataType in MakeSnapShot.py to the current year.
  6. Answer the questions
  7. copy the generated *.db files to /group/online/hlt/conditions
  8. ls *.db to check that the snapshot is there
  9. cd manifest
  10. edit MOORE_v put in the new tags
  11. Open the LHCb control panel and open RunInfo
  12. Click on create/edit PHYSICS trigger configuration
  13. Change the tag for Hlt1 (left) and Hlt2 (right)
  14. Click on the new tag, select it
  15. Save the PHYSICS configurations
  16. Make sure you did not change anything else than database tag.
  17. Configure this configuration at the next possibility for testing

Especially in commissioning periods other configurations than Physics might require an update of the database tags. Communicate with the Run Chief to find out which configurations need to be adapted.
