Testbeam Schedule 2006

The VELO 2006 testbeam will operate complete VELO halves, with partial readout (20 TELL1s) in the secondary SPS beam at the North Hall in the CERN Prevessin site. There will be a preparatory testbeam with three modules read out in August. The official LHCb request for beam time can be seen here:

The REVISED SPS schedule for 2006, as of June 2006, can be seen here. The VELO time slot covers the first two weeks of August, which is labelled ECAL but actually attributed to the VELO, and the first 2.5 weeks of November, with some overlap with parasitic running from TOTEM. There is a possible backup in September which we do not intend to use, as we intend to rely on the August test beam to make a full preparation for the November testbeam.

We have been allocated an area in the North Hall which can be seen here. The area has been equipped with a new floor, and a large amount of mechanics have been installed and cables pulled in the area. Dedicated scintillator triggers to trigger on interaction vertices in the VELO as well as many other trigger configurations have been installed.
