Comment1: The sole result shown is Fig. 2 which mainly shows that the strain is
constant after a characteristic settling time. I don't see how you can
conclude from what is presented that "It can be seen from Fig. 2
that the reaction time of FBG sensors to changing tensile load
is instantaneous."
Answer
Instantaneous reaction is referred to the time when load (stress) is applied or removed NOT when constant stress is applied.
*
Comment2:
The figure does not show the load.
Answer
Figure shows the variation of strain with respect to time by applying some stress, work is going on as said in the paper to determine the nominal load to get the flatness.
*
Comment3:
The time axis is strange from 1.5E4 to 2.1E4 sec.
Answer
We suppose 1.5E4 is our starting point, it is done as per comment.
*
Comment3:
The strain axis has odd units of "millistrain" - what is that?
Answer
It is Done as per comment
*
Comment4:
The axis labels are too small to be visible at normal magnification.
Answer
Axis are magnified (Done)

Comment1:
We will take the time it takes to bring these proceedings to the
necessary level. They will be published in NIM which is a high level
instrumentation journal.
Answer
Paper is mproved
*
Comment2:
Following Paul's comments, I ask Saleh to read
through the comments I sent to the list on Ilaria's and Alice's
proceedings and make sure that those points which apply here are taking
into account.
Answer
Paul comments are accommodated as mentioned above
*
Comment2:
I see a number of places.... I'm also asking Luigi to have
a look and help Saleh.
Answer
Luigi input taken in account
*
Comment3:
Add the TDR as a ref.
Answer
GEM TDR is added in reference
*
Comment4:
Here, we have two plots which are not coming from the TDR. I think there
is nothing controversial but would like to know if they have been shown
in a GEM meeting somewhere.
Answer
As Luigi said in his email: Concerning the plots one is a schematic view of the FBG sensors used and the second is the gran total of the measurement published in the TDR. Actually the TDR picture is just the right part of the plot in this paper.
For sure they are not controversial.
I also underline that both have been shown in the detector meeting and discussed well in advance the conference.
We will work on the paper in the next two days to improve the few sentences that can be written in one single page.

Comment5:
Just to avoid surprises.
Answer
It is tried to avoid

Comment6:
- don't start the intro with GE1/1. First introduce the project (CMS,
GE1/1) and explain what Ge1/1 is (if needed). Move the last paragraph to
be beginning and add a bit of information.
Answer
It is done as per comments and suggestions
*
Comment7:
- please ask someone with experience in scientific writing to help you
to rewrite a bit Sec.3. It is hard to understand. The paper should be
understood by standard readers.
Answer
Consulted with experience person (e.g. Luigi Benussi, Stefano Bianco, Michele and our frascati group) and treid to explain better.
*
Comment8:
- Can't you plot Figs.4-6 in the same histogram using different colors
and/or linestyles.
Answer
It is Done as suggested
*
Comment9:
In any case, say that this a good result
(presumably). What are the units?
Answer
Units have been mentioned as per comments
*
Comment10:
- Decide for Figure or Fig.
Answer
Decided it is "Figure".
You still need to send your proceedings to iCMS, correct? Please do with
with the improved version asap. See instructions on the twiki.
