RFRXD related information

  • digital RFRX/RFTX page
  • Address encoder settings: SW1=F, SW2=1 on production board (SW1=F, SW2=0 on prototype board). Note that with the production boad, geographical addressing seems not to work in slot >= 16 according to the documentation.

Accessing PSX from the command line

(see also here)

  • scripts are here
  • do the following to get the script:
        wget -O dpGetNames.sh 'http://isscvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/viewcvs-all.cgi/TriDAS/daq/psx/scripts/dpGetNames.sh?root=tridas&content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co'
        chmod +x dpGetNames.sh
        wget -O dpGet.sh 'http://isscvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/viewcvs-all.cgi/TriDAS/daq/psx/scripts/dpGet.sh?root=tridas&content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co'
        chmod +x dpGet.sh
        wget -O dpSet.sh 'http://isscvs.cern.ch/cgi-bin/viewcvs-all.cgi/TriDAS/daq/psx/scripts/dpSet.sh?root=tridas&content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co'
        chmod +x dpSet.sh

Reading back the values from PSX

go to TTCSoftware/soap-examples and run:

  • read-rfrx-values-from-psx.py to read back the RFRX values from the PSX server (unfortunately, there is no date associated with it)
  • reset-rfrx-values-in-psx.py to set the datapoints' values to -1 (this is useful to check whether the automatic update works)

Checking the values published to the online database

SquirrelSQL

  • configure squirrelsql to connect to cms_omds_lb. From outside the online cluster, it's probably easiest to specify localhost as a database host, and then to setup an ssh tunnel, e.g.:
   ssh -L 10121:cmsonr1-v.cms:10121 cmsusr0b
the connection string should be something like: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:10121/cms_omds_lb.cern.ch
  • look for the table CMS_DCS_ENV_PVSS_COND.CMSFWRFRX.

Command line oracle client

  • do sqlplus username@cms_omds_lb
  • do e.g.
    SELECT CHANGE_DATE,item FROM CMS_DCS_ENV_PVSS_COND.CMSFWRFRX ORDER BY CHANGE_DATE ASC;

    where item is e.g. one (or more) of: F40_B1, FREV_B1, F40_REF, FREV_B2, F40_B2
  • example:
COLUMN change_date FORMAT a35;
SELECT CHANGE_DATE,F40_B2 FROM CMS_DCS_ENV_PVSS_COND.CMSFWRFRX WHERE F40_B2 IS NOT NULL ORDER BY CHANGE_DATE ASC;
