Special Usage options: Post mortem analysis for aborted jobs

More information about aborted jobs can be useful to debug problems. CRAB provides a command to provide information from a post mortem analysis.

Post mortem analysis for aborted jobs

The following command performs a post mortem analysis of job number 1

crab -postMortem 1 -c

where 1 can be replaced with any combination of job numbers and job ranges separated by comma (Example: 1,2,3-4). To specify a directory of a specific CRAB project, use

crab -postMortem 1 -c <directory>

The standard output should look like:

crab. crab (version 1.4.2) running on Mon Mar 19 14:58:39 2007

crab. Working options:
  scheduler edg
  job type CMSSW
  working directory /uscms/home/gutsche/work/software/CRAB/test/CMSSW_1_2_0/src/old/

crab. Logging info for job 1: aborted with "Grid error after job started". Abort msg: "Cannot read JobWrapper output, both from Condor and from Maradona.".
      written to /uscms/home/gutsche/work/software/CRAB/test/CMSSW_1_2_0/src/old/job//CMSSW_000001.loggingInfo
crab. Log-file is /uscms/home/gutsche/work/software/CRAB/test/CMSSW_1_2_0/src/old/log/crab.log

The standard output gives a summary of the abort reason and the path to the full post mortem analysis logfile
