This is a tWiki page for the LHCb, LBD group at CERN. If you would like to be added as editor of this tWiki, please send me an email (RobLambert) (rob.lambert at cern.ch) with your tWikiName. This page should contain hints, tips, links, and whatever else you can think of.

Organisation:

- Management:

The LBD group is the LHCb physics and detector group at CERN, part of the Physics (PH) department.

  • the LHCb Team CERN team is composed of three groups: LBO, LBD, LBC
  • (where LB is the shorthand for LHCb, and the last letter stands for Organization, Detector and Computing, respectively).

  • Read more LBO includes the management of the team as well as the LHCb collaboration as a whole, including the Spokesperson (if he or she has a CERN contract), the Technical Coordinator and members of the secretariat. It also includes a Section led by the Technical Coordinator, made up of staff who take care of technical operation of the experiment, for example at the pit. The LBO group is led by MonicaPepeAltarelli, who also acts as the Team Leader for the LHCb CERN team.

  • Read more LBD is the group containing the staff whose primary focus is on the detector or physics. There are currently nine permanent staff members, typically sharing their time between the understanding of a subdetector or the trigger, and exploiting the detector for physics. This is the group into which Research Fellows are welcomed. There are also members on shorter term contracts, as Project or Scientific Associates. The group is led by AndreasSchopper, with ThomasRuf as deputy.

  • Read more LBC is the group containing the staff whose primary focus is on the computing of LHCb, either online or offline. The group is led by Beat Jost, with MarcoCattaneo as deputy.

The group leaders of the three groups meet every few weeks at a Team Management meeting, along with representatives from the LHCb collaboration management and Resource Coordinator, to discuss issues of budget or manpower. If you have an issue that you wish to be raised at such a meeting please contact your group leader.
