Evaluation of JES for Tagging Quarks for Higgs Boson Mass Measurement

  • The data set names used for this study are: CSA07Z1jet_0ptw100, CSA07Z2jet_0ptw100

  • number of Z+1 jet events for 10 fb-1: (Alpgen cross-section(fb))x(branching ratio)x(10fb-1) = 935000x(1/3)x10 = 3116667 (Pythia cross section with CKIN(3)=20 GeV is (700000fb)x10 = 7M events (for alpgen = 3M event) --> the difference comes from the MLM matching that rejects about 2/3 of the events.)

  • deltaRpj.png: DeltaR between the MaxDeltaPhi jets and quarks (or gluons) from Z+1jet events. We take jets with DeltaR<0.4.

  • Pt(Z)>40 GeV/c. Gaussian fits are done +/- 1xrms around the peak. For bins 18, 20 and 22 (bin counting starts from 0) gaussians fitted by hand.

pt(e)>15 GeV, |eta|<2.5 and 1.44<|eta|<1.56

Electron Isolation:

Electron isolation is be done like this:
[1/pT(e)^2]xSum[pT(trk)^2]<0.005 
where the sum is over tracks with pT(trk)>1.0 GeV 
and the pT's defined at the vertex and the sum is done
within the isolation cone 0.02<DR<0.25.
Here number of track hits > 5.
(Z_track-Z_electron_vertex) < 100.
