Dear friends,
The version 1_3_2 of FAMOS is released, based on ORCA_8_9_4 and
COBRA_8_5_1. It is mostly identical to FAMOS_1_3_2_pre5, with
1) One addition in the documentation (
ExRootAnalysis, A. Giammanco and
M. Galanti)
2) Two minor corrections in the Electron Candidate code and in the track
RecHit's storage.
Modifications with respect to FAMOS_1_2_0 can be seen from release
notes, from the FAMOS web page
http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/FAMOS
.
Those of you who want to install FAMOS_1_3_2 outside must be aware that
they should take
1) the
GeneratorInterface/HBookInterface,
GeneratorInterface/RawHepMC,
Utilities/CHBook4 and CARF/Event packages from the CERN Famos release
area (before compiling); These modified libraries, automatically
available in the CERN release, are needed to cope with
PileUp event
generation in FAMOS, with
HepMC file reading, with very large CMKIN
events that were exceeding the available HBOOK memory, and with the MC
truth reading from DST's in FAMOS;
2) the
MuonReco/MuonIsolation library from ORCA_8_9_2. This older
library is needed to make the Muon Isolation work in FAMOS. Indeed,
changes made in ORCA_8_9_3/8_9_4 in the Muon software were not
propagated to FAMOS (i.e., have not been check to preserve FAMOS by the
persons in charge of this software), and cause FAMOS to crash;
3) the .SCRAM/ToolCache.db file from the CERN release area if you boot
with if they boot using "scram p -b config/boot". (You don't need to if
you install an RPM based on the CERN release.). This is necessary to be
able to read the default .orcarc file from COBRA and ORCA.
I realize that these additional burdens are not too pleasant, and I'll
make a release of FAMOS_1_4_0 based on COBRA_8_5_3 and ORCA_8_13_1 as
soon as the latter two are indeed available, which is expected for soon.
Best,
Patrick.
