The analysis code

Use MiBiCommonPAT to make the ntuples and the package VertexStudies to analyze the ntuples.

Recipe for CMSSW_5_3_X - checking out the code from git

Scripts

A script to run the analyzer that produces the vertex finding efficiency plots and the vertex id variable distributions is available here: submitVertexEfficiencyJobs.py.
Use
python submitVertexEfficiencyJobs.py --help to see the options.

To run the jobs:
python submitVertexEfficiencyJobs.py -i /store/cmst3/user/malberti/HIGGS/VERTEX/2012/DATA/ -c TMVA_check_ZmumuData_TEMPLATE.cfg -w test -n 100 -q 8nh

To check the job status
python submitVertexEfficiencyJobs.py --checkJobs -w test

To resubmit one job
python submitVertexEfficiencyJobs.py  -w test -j

Before running these scripts remember to check that all the parameters are ok in the config files: TMVA_check_ZmumuData_TEMPLATE.cfg (and also for MC). Note that we agreed to use the BS re-weighting when calculating efficiency scale factors: make sure the flag for BS re-weighting is set to "true" in the TMVA_check_ZmumuMC_TEMPLATE.cfg configuration file.

Macros to make plots

  • ComputeWeights.C: this is needed to compute pileup weights. Change the name of the file with PU data and the name of the ouput file.
  • PlotEfficiency.cxx to plot efficiencies vs pt, nvtx, vertex variables, MVA outputs.
