CERN beam test DAQ set up and how to run

  • Run SRSDCS_1.5.4 from desktop
    • connect the system to the FEC 10.0.0.14 (/home/dateuser/Desktop/MMs_30sept_2014_DAQ/config/XXXXX), load configuration file sdc_FEC_14.txt
    • open SRSDCS program and connect to the 10.0.0.14, apply the external trigger and enable the data acquisition
  • Starting the program
    • ./mmdaq3_server (/home/dateuser/Desktop/MMs_30_sept_2014_DAQ/mmdaq3-server)
    • ./browser --online (/home/dateuser/Desktop/MMs_30sept_2014_DAQ/GUI)
    • From GUI, load the config file (e.g. /home...../Config/TestBeam_MMSW.../DAQ_config.xml)
  • Run (pedestal)
    • select Pedestals n Run type, check "write the file", start run (change trigger switch in rack)
    • check the quality
  • Run (physics)
    • check trigger switch,
    • load pedestal file, check "write the file", then select Physics in Run type

CERN PS(2014.8) : T9 beam line (bld. 157), 9 GeV pi or p.

  • Aim of beam test :
    • MSW : Uniformity check (HV, position scan)
    • TQF1 : Resistive foil, readout strip alignment check (section 1=standard, section 2=half-pitch shift, sector 3=+2 degree tilt, sector 4, -1 degree tilt)
    • ExMe : Pillar choice check (Pillar pitch is different in 4 sections, A=5mm, B=7mm, C=8.5mm, D=10mm)
    • Different gas mixture (Ar+15%CO2 vs Ar+7%CO2)
