Tracker Phase 2 upgrade, IIHE(ULB/VUB) Testing Working Group

Scope:
* perform hybrids tests to check if they survived after transportation (Hybrids acceptance tests)
* measure IV curves of strip sensors after each assembly step (Sensor tests)
* test connections between sensors and hybrids before and after encapsulation (Single-module tests)
* thermal cycle assembled modules to qualify them (Multi-module burn-in tests)

Weekly meetings: bi-weekly (every odd week) on Fridays , 10:00 - 12:00, Zoom only.

Inna :
Introduction :
Our group consists of 4 different parts: hybrids acceptance tests, sensor tests, single-module tests and multi-modules burn-in. Correspondingly, we have 3 different conveners: Inna for hybrids tests, Eric for sensor and single module tests, Wim for burn-in.

Wim: General propose to have an overview per setup about the power requirements, area space etc.

Doing this for the sensor measurement setup showed we need a lot of mains sockets. Most likely this will also be the case for the other setups.

Inna: Hybrid test:
* For FEH tests almost everything is ready. First version of the mux setup we have in the lab. HW is being finalized, FW is ready and used to develop SW, SW is being finalized, GUI is well advanced. Missing parts here: connection to database and barcode reader. There is an option to mount the reader just on the rack. In this case it is possible to use barcode reader with wire, which is cheaper. Eric has some input data from Georges for barcode readers specifications. He is investigating possible options.
* For SEH tests the developments are still ongoing. It is planned to have mux backplane compatible 2S SEH test card, so during production the same mux setup can be used (but with different plug-in cards). The plug-in card is being developed by Aachen in cooperation with CERN hybrids team. The strategy is exactly the same as for PS ROH tests (2 FC7s, one for optical readout and control, another one is for FE emulation), therefore most probably we will need two different test mux setups in the lab. Existing FW and SW for PS ROH tests will be adapted to the 2S SEH tests.

Eric: Sensor test box:
* All HW items are ready to be used for the SW development.
* Action running on Interlock cable to HV source.
* Action needed to test vacuum clamping in Antwerp lab.
* A step by step procedure must be written for the IV-measurement.
* SW: general framework and status was presented by Tomas on last Tracker team meeting.

Eric: Module test box:
* No recent activity.
* Status of box from KIT should be checked.

Wim: Burn in stations:

3 “sub tasks “

* Cooling loop: realization of the cooling infrastructure and installation, covered by the cooling workgroup. This has implementation for the clean room so this is under clean room.
* Coldbox: investigating to get a standard table freezer model from a recycling firm. As the active part has to be removed even for a new one better to ask for an old one.
* DAQ and control: not actively following this at the moment.

Spare computer:
We have to consider a spare computer. So try to have the computers for the different stations setup in the same way (packages, software).
Added in the minutes: all these computers need an extra ethernet card to communicate with the FC7 .

Direct actions :
* Eric: Interlock cable to HV source.
* Eric: Test vacuum clamping system.
* Eric: Step by step manual for a sensor test ( flow chart). This will identify overlooked issues and give a good guidance for the (final) software structure.

Minutes:

* no news for hybrid test
* TestBox: Eric (offline) reported that z-station issue to communicate via RS232 has sth to do with USB-to-Serial convertor.
Cable was exchanged with Keithley causing additional issues with Keithley comm. Possibly the whole cable is malfunctioning.
Need to be tested on Monday with Tomas and Wim.
* TestBox SW: nothing new
* Interface board introduced by Pascal as a safer and quicker solution to contact bias ring.

Idea is to have a matrix of spring-like probes matching the contact area. Density of probes will make an alignment uncritical.
Possible overlap with outer ring should be avoided due to possible connection on short. Eric's review is needed to comment on implementation.
