Who does what

Derek - are you ok with this?

  • Ingo (store/user space): produce CMSSW MC samples at FNAL and register them in DBS
  • Derek&Ingo: get ntupling code running again and add missing variables
  • Derek: run ntupling code and produce muID tuples
  • Derek/Ingo/Claudio: produce efficiency and fakerate plots
  • retune selections

  • publish results in some way (talk / updated note / twiki / ...)

CMSSW version

Collect pros and cons for deciding between 31X, 32X and 33X.

Currently I would go with 312.

3_1_2

  • is 1-to-1 to large MC samples
  • is nearly completely set up and tested with 2M pions already
  • misses following features:
    • global muon selectors Adam's talk 20th of July 09.
    • standalone muon hit handling (naming convention)
    • propagation change
    • seeding re-parametrization

3_2_6

  • mainly cosmic muon related changes to 312

3_3_X

  • should have what 312 is missing
    • the only potential interesting thing would be Adam's ID cuts?
  • is not yet out - will be in 2-3 weeks (according to Slava)

pions, eta<2.5, 2-200 GeV, 1M
kaons eta<2.5, 2-5 and 5-200 GeV, 300k
mouns eta <2.5, 0-500 GeV 250k

Samples according to page (don't recall how it came to this seeming disagreement):

pions, eta<2.5, 2-200 GeV, 1M
kaons eta<2.5, 2-200 GeV, 1M
mouns eta <2.5, 0-500 GeV 500k

There were special pion samples 2-5 and 5-200 GeV

Register in local DBS

What this does is:

  • create a folder named "yourDataset" in /store/user/ in FNAL dcache
  • publish this folders content with the datasetlable as the foldername once crab -publish is called in local DBS

  • no need to create the folder
  • no need to define the path etc
  • the local DBS instance needs not be where the data is (but can smile )

Ntupling code

  • Dig it out again
  • get it to run in 31X
  • additional variables:
    • valid hits
    • cal timing?
    • else?
