CruZeT Analysis - Data Integrity

One could correlate the event-data with CRuZeT MonLogger data.

Terminology:

  • FED xxx-y (or spigot xxx-y), indicates the spigot y that is an input to FED (=DCC) xxx.
  • Broken Event problem - header looks OK, correct EvN, no LRB errors. Event ends prematurely, and a second fragment contains the rest of the event. Possibly an LRB problem, according to Mr Wu.
  • Burst-noise problem - LRB errors, header looks OK, correct EvN. Event ends prematurely, and a second and a third fragment contains the rest of the event.
  • Blabbering HTR problem - HTR sends over and over the same pair of 16-bit words, until the DCC truncates the event at 512 (32-bit) words.
  • Bad EvN problem - One EvN and the corresponding LRB-Ch (in the same header) are corrupted; no other problems.

Here are some e-mail comments by Mr Wu on the problems seen in various runs.

HTR 5a Firmware

Run 43345

  • Dump at EvN 16857 – 723-6 had one bad EvN in header, then OK; no LRB errors (?).

Run 43401

  • EricDIM on full run
  • Dump at EvN 210577 – 723-6 had one bad EvN in header, then OK
  • Dump at EvN 283895 – 722-3 had the "blabbering HTR" problem. After that this spigot is off by one EvN.
  • Dump at EvN 327898 – 723-6 had the "broken event" problem starting at 327898.

Run 43375

  • Dump at EvN 29521 – FED 723-6 had the "broken event" problem

Run 43408

  • Dump at EvN 38283 – FED 723-6 had the "broken event" problem.

Run 43410

  • Dump at EvN 501444 – FED 728-7 had the "blabbering HTR" problem. After this event the spigot is off by one EvN.

Run 43434

  • Dump at start – FED 721-1 and 723-6 start the run with crazy EvN

Run 43566

  • Dump at EvN 425122 – FED 706-9 had the "broken event" problem.

Run 43584

  • Dump at EvN 3206 – FED 703-2,3 reset to EvN 1 and start from there

HTR 0x62 Firmware

This firmware was a first attempt at fixing various zero-suppression bugs. It caused the rate of LOS occurrences to go way up.

Run 43545

I re-ran EricDIM on the entire run: EricDIM_run43545.pdf. Note that there are many LRB errors seen. Here is a text summary of the HTR status and LRB errors by FED/spigot. The hex values are the 'or' of all values seen during the entire run. See also dump with LRB error on spigot 709-07, and "burst-noise problem" on spigot 703-01
