LHCb at Nikhef
This is the TWiki page for
Nikhef
collaborators on the LHCb experiment.
It has been setup to help you, and contains hints and tips about working here at Nikhef and for LHCb in general.

Nikhef group structure
The B-physics department at Nikhef implements the research program 23 of the FOM funding agency:
- "Study of charge-parity violation with the LHCb experiment at CERN".
- The program runs over the period 1999-2014.
- The mission is to search for new particles or interactions that affect the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry in nature by making preciosn measurements of B-meson decays.
- The participating institutes are the Nikhef-FOM, and the Nikhef-VU groups.
In the first half of the FOM programme the group has contributed to:
- the construction of the LHCb experiment while
- the data analysisof the HERA-B and Babar experiments.
In the second half of the program the focus is on data taking and physics analysis with the LHCb experiment as well as on preparation of the LHCb upgrade experiment.
- Programme leader: dr. Mara Soares
- Deputy programme leader: dr. Niels Tuning

Group Meetings
The BFys group, and the LHCb group at Nikhef have regular meetings, advertised through bfys-physics AT nikhef.nl.
The LHCb group meets usually on Friday mornings, roughly once every two weeks. The agenda can be found under the B-physics category on the
Nikhef Indico
There are also regular colloquia, advertised by internal annoucements (intercom) and similarly on the
Nikhef Indico
MarcelMerk maintains also a google calendar of other misc events. These calendars are embedded below.
