Noise Measurements using the L1 output of the calorimeters:

We use the Spectrum Analyzer (SA) to measure the noise amplitude and shape using the receiver crates. The channel numbers are from 0 to 63 (input channel numbers to the receiver). These numbers are the entries of the following tables. Note:
  • If you see "off": means either the corresponding FEC is off or has too low noise
  • If you see "ok": means the noise shape is smooth and no peaking noise exists. Therefore this might inlcude cases
where noise is smooth but high.
  • Attached are the excel files used to know the mapping between FEB channels and TT.
Receiver crates:

  • EMBANoiseT1: Tests have been done during the Noise hunting campaign of November 12th-16th 2007.
