How to install Persint from cvs

  • on SLC4
export CVSROOT=:kserver:atlas-sw.cern.ch:/atlascvs

  • on your personnal computer
export CVSROOT=:ext:yourAccount@atlas-sw.cern.ch:/atlascvs
export CVS_RSH=ssh

then

cvs co -r Persint-00-00-18 -d Persint offline/graphics/Persint
cd Persint
source setup.sh
./bootstrap.sh
make

How to run Persint

go to the directory where persint was installed (Persint in the previous case))

cd run
source setup.sh
persint

the "source setup.sh" defines a few default links necessary to run persint. You may change them if you want to run on your own event file

ln -s yourEventFile default_muhits

and if your events require a different geometry than the default one

ln -s ../AmdcData/share/theRightGeometryFile default_amdb_simrec

or a different magnetic field

ln -s ../BFieldData/share/theRightMagneticFieldFile default_bmagatlas

In case of error

if you get an error during the "source xxx.sh", it's probably because you run in a shell not compatible with sh. Either adapt xxx.sh to your own shell, or go to the sh shell by typing "sh".

if you get a message saying that javac is not found, you have to install a java jdk (java development kit) which is needed to compile the few java classes.
