Searching for secondary QGP in Jet

Week of April 6-13

*By the end of monday 13th: 2D JetPt vs Multiplicity plot.

* Submitted CRAB jobs with HLT Calo4 Jet100.

* Running 2D correlation binned in 85GeV increments of Jet Pt.

* Progress on RAW Data project: code compiling and giving sizes for different detector modules.

* Problem sets, class reading, class presentations.

Notes:

Exit Code 50660 Some fraction of CRAB jobs fail with exit code 50660: Application terminated by wrapper because using too much RAM (RSS). Are we missing anything with these "big" sub-collections of events? Could these have the highest energy jets with the best chance of seeing correlation?

Number of Jets <100 neq zero I assume the HLT trigger is passed if there is any jet in the event gt 100GeV and that is why we still see some (still highest histogram peak) jets sub 100GeV. Is this a problem? does it mean I did not implement the HLT correctly?

Run code on data.

Look at 2D corr as a set of 1D profile curves (see paper example).

Look at V2 (talk to Yousen).

Look at dN/dEta with proper normalization.

Consider appropriate ways to subtract wrong-axis 2D corr from correct signal.

4. Appendix Plots

Jet Pt vs nTrk

Jets grouped by Pt in bins of size 900/16 (0 to 900/16, 900/16 to 2 x 900/16 etc) with various theta acceptance cuts in addition to all kinematic cuts applied to 2D correlation analysis.

Things to observe:

-Larger theta acceptances have higher nTrk means (obvious)

-Narrow theta cuts show a positive relationship between increasing nTrk mean and increasing jet pt bin (logical)

-Wide theta cuts do not show a positive relationship between increasing nTrk mean and increasing jet pt bin. This is because the nTrk mean is dominated by the underlying event. (logical)
