  • Cosmic keys:
    • 9847: extra chain for pixel tests (ATR-15902)
    • Muon chains not ready -> using Tau8

  • High rate keys:
    • prescale needs update (HLT key) (otherwise will run out of cores)
    • use Trigger Tool SMK -> MenuWork -> Prescales -> change HLT/L1 key
    • Timeburner (mimics real work at farm) -> has to be prescaled (see Twiki)
    • Change HLT high rate on twiki

  • Menu keys:
    • TRT wants 110 kHz working point
    • TT SMK -> MenuWork -> Prescales -> L1 -> In/Out -> change prescale / name -> save
    • Add to twiki

2017-03-30

  • Oracle test
  • Muons had problems due to leak
  • LAr was out
  • High rate tests
    • dead-time settings changed on the fly --> only lasts for the current run
    • cosmic settings were already in OKS
    • pbeast values for sct deadtime are not correct https://atlasop.cern.ch/elisa/display/335655
    • stopped with 3-6% deadtime ~ TGC
  • Combined run overnight
    • default cosmics now include TGC burst chain (13490, 9881)
    • overnight L1 rate: 830-850 Hz, HLT rate: 125-150 Hz pbeast
    • Cosmics run 319049 KEYS: SMK 2535, L1-13490, HLT-9881 , BGK-1397;
    • 22:50 RATES: L1-840 Hz, HLT-105Hz, Rec-118 Hz, express- 12 Hz, CosmicMuons_physics stream - 75Hz;
  • Errors

2017-03-31

  • L1 calo high rate test --> ~60% deadtime, always same rods
  • stopless removals --> ongoing all day
  • afternoon: ATLAS partition had to be restarted, HLT broke, primary partition had to be restarted, we waited a long time.

Instructions for 5th-6th of September

The expected filling scheme is 25ns_1916b_1909_1042_1560_112bpi_20i8b4e, with BGK not yet known.
If the actual filling scheme is very different, please call the trigger on-call at PREPARE RAMP.
Else please check the BGK immediately after generating it at RAMP, following the procedure below.

Checking the Bunch Group Key

When you generate a Bunch Group Key at ramp, you can check the details of this key at:
http://atlas-trigconf.cern.ch/bunchgroups?key=XXXX
with for example XXXX=1990.

Please look up the number of bunches for:

  • 1- Paired
  • 3- Empty
  • 4- IsolatedUnpaired
  • 5- NonIsolatedUnpaired
  • 6- EmptyBeforeAfterPaired
  • 8- AbortGapNotCalReq

First check if

  • IsolatedUnpaired = 10
  • NonIsolatedUnpaired = 14
  • AbortGapNotCalReq = 29

Then compare the other numbers to the predictions below:
For filling scheme 25ns_1916b_1909_1042_1560_112bpi_20i8b4e

  • Paired = 1909
  • Empty = 463
  • EmptyBeforeAfterPaired = 1072

  1. If the numbers from the BGK generated at ramp agree within 8% with the predication, please use the keys matching the filling scheme name.

  2. If the numbers from the BGK generated at ramp differ more than 8% with the predictions, please call the online expert on call.
  3. If the filling scheme is drastically different from 25ns_1916b_1909_1042_1560_112bpi_20i8b4e, please call the online expert on call.
