VBF Preselection

A first preselection of the events is performed on signal and background samples. This preselection is intended to be in common with all VBF channels. The event requirements are as follow:

  • At least one lepton (e/mu) with pT > 15 GeV/c and η < 2.5
  • At least two jets with pT > 15 GeV and η < 2.5 (L2 L3 corrections applied)

Events passing these first requirements are saved in a root ntuple MiBi format. Here is the link to the cvs repository of the MiBiCommonPAT package and here the link to twiki with the package description.

VBFHiggsToWWTolnulnuPreselection

A second, more stringent preselection of the events is performed on signal and background samples. This preselection is intended to be specific for the VBF H -> WW -> lnu lnu channel. The event requirements are as follow:

  • at least 2 leptons (e/mu) with pT > 10 GeV/c, loosely isolated Sum pT trakcs / pT < 0.1
  • at least 2 jets with pT > 15 GeV, Invariant mass > 200 GeV/c2 and Δη > 1

INSTRUCTIONS

This second preselection is run outside CMSSW. Just go to the base directory of the AnalysisPackage_qqHWWlnulnu and set the necessary environement variables by typing source scripts/setup.sh.

Create the list of samples to run over (for example "data/LISTOFSamples_Fall10_Dec10.txt") and launch the filter.

         cd scripts/submit/
         perl launchJobs_hercules.pl params_hercules.CFG

VBFHiggsToWWTolnulnu NtupleProducer

A third, more stringent preselection of the events is performed on signal and background samples. The objects for the analysis are selected and the output is a plain ROOT tree.

  • at least 2 leptons (e/mu) with pT > 10 GeV/c, and, if electron, passing the 95% WP eID (see SimpleCutBasedEleID), if muon, passing the muon id (see muId)
  • at least 2 jets (cleaned from electrons and muons) with eT > 20/15 GeV, Invariant mass > 200 GeV/c2 and Δη > 1

  • The tag jets are selected as the pair with the highest pT.

INSTRUCTIONS

This third preselection is run outside CMSSW. Just go to the base directory of the AnalysisPackage_qqHWWlnulnu and set the necessary environement variables by typing source scripts/setup.sh.

To test:

./bin/NtupleProducer.exe test/testNtupleProducer.cfg

To run on cluster, the list of samples defined here test/Winter10/samples_skimmed.txt
