Plan to pick the overlap data set , (two root files /Muon and /EG , save the run_id with overlap ): This can be used in the future!!!!

The overlap id is useless. Poter said that simply use the HLTIndex to reject the overlap Mu or EG dataset. (I am trying to proof this, not yet..)

I may stop to read and plan to read book during spare time (like weekend)

For QCD estimation. I may find some parameter related to the signal channel and QCD background to use data-driven.

Work for tomorrow: Try to write a program like Shutta did today. Normalize some sample and put it together.

About Jacky's note, I may ask him by mail. He is in conference now !

Test: Try to draw the muon Phi variable with two root file.

      1. One data Muon: /data3/qing/Oct16/_Mu_Run2010A_Sep17ReReco_v2_RECO_135821_144114.root
      2. One Mc QCD: /data2/qing/MC/_QCD_Pt15_Summer10_START36_V9_S09_v1_GEN_SIM_RECODEBUG.root

Also apply normalize to it's data LS.

But the plot is not reasonable. Trying to find bug (maybe due to wrong LS normalization fomula !!!)

It’s not possible to use this three variable to estimate the QCD background from data signal. However it still good to get some feeling about the QCD and signal distribution.

Signal and QCD are uniform with muon D0. Need one more variable which is uniform for QCD but non-uniform for Signal. Then ABCD methond is done!!

Next job: Trying to plot other variable which may fit this condition.

*Decide to use Relative iso vs muPz

*The signal and background distribution like the one in top-pairproduction (see below top-pair paper’s picture)

muPz < 200 Gev and Riso < 0.2

口Background:

muPz < 200 Gev and Riso > 0.2

*Cut four region with two line for ABCD methond:

口 muPz = 200 Gev

口 Riso = 0.2

Start to write Macro for mc signal and qcd background and compare with data. (Check the macro of this plot in attached file!!!)

  • Add 6 QCD Canvas PLOT (1-D plot , for Relative Iso)

*Add one data+QCD plot (see the last page in this pdf file), Question, why the MC Background events bigger than Data with proper scale ?????

*number of bins from 50 to 100 (you can see the histogram is much narrower with some peak)

*Use new dataset (_Mu_xxxx) under /data3/qing/Oct31/ instead the old one
