• Maria summarized Q1 2005 operations on assembly, configuration and functional tests
• Ioannis doing tests on scalability for reading tests

• Q2 aim:
  • scalability tests

• Milestone: deliver a production-like environment for key applications

• Eric presented proposal for tests with Oracle 10gR2 within RAC on Linux
  • tests should be complementary to current tests in RAc on Linux team
  • DES will use only 10gR2 for stability reason
  • Move to 10g(R2) should start happen in Q4 2005 and 2006.
  • need to test: IO calibration to predict / identify architecture
  • need to test: Certificates/Wallets instead of username/password
    • comment: no to do with db implementation. 10gR2 have better support
    • comment: can be done already now, based on AS already released
  • XDB - security - on R2 no ports are open by default
  • RAC pooling - with R2 it selects even after connection which nodes are less loaded - need to test
  • Multiplexing of critical files. Trash.Test R2 clusterware OCR+voting disk. Trash.Test disk/array replacement
  • CVU - cluster verification utility. Experience with scstat on SunCluster shows its important.
  • backups multiple channel allocation. On R2 automatic parallelism as single instance
  • Conclusion: agreed to help bit more on R1 tests.
  • Conclusion: CERN should look at some points on R2.

• Discussion if tests and pre-production should run on R1 or betaR2
  • Oracle still says July for release R2
  • Ask experiments if they accept to wait for R2 to enter production

• DES makes a workplan for their needs and then discuss a common workplan
• Workplan with list of things need to do for next 3 months and what can be done later
• Use openlab relation to Oracle
